How to fill a bird drinker

Do you have birds in your house such as canaries, parakeets or others, and you have to leave them for a few days because you are going on a trip? You should have drinking fountains that keep the water in good condition and last long enough until you return home. For this reason, here we show you which trough you can use and how it is filled with water.

Steps to follow:

1. This bird drinker can be found in different sizes; therefore, depending on the number of birds you have in a cage, a large or small one is better. The water should not be in the drinker for more than a week, since small algae are created and that is not good for your birds. To start filling this drinker, separate the base of the container that looks like a test tube or glass.

2. Then fill the glass with water until it is completely full, as shown in the picture.

3. Cover the glass full of water with the base of the drinker. It may be that the lid is somewhat dirty with algae from the water that was there before, if this is the case, you have to wash the base with water and rub to remove any remaining dirt.

4. Now, so that the water does not run off the reed where the birds drink, you have to turn the trough in the opposite direction to this reed. In this way, when it is turned over, the tab will always face upwards so that the water in the glass does not fall.

5. Now you only need to place the water trough between the grids of your bird’s cage.
